Building Phase
- Gather together and price out all your materials (photos, text, videos, etc.).
- I can build some materials from scratch but sometimes it's better to buy things prebuilt outright and tweak them out if necessary. I can help you avoid making purchasing mistakes.
- Pour the foundation. This is usually your Content Management framework.
- Frame the building. Outside and internal walls. Make basic pages and link them up together.
- We add in utilities. Put in features that will handle videos, picture galleries, forms, blogs, etc.
- These are also like sinks, showers, kitchen appliances, and laundry. Basic functionality.
- Bring in the furniture. Actual text. videos, galleries, music, products.
- Start painting the walls, adding curtains, rugs and so forth. Choose the site colors, background imagery, page layout. Page layout is like room layout.
- At some point we may need to bring in specialist contractors to do certain things like photography, video, programming, writing, etc. I may need a small management fee to handle them if you want.
- Finally, move in! I'll teach you how to move things around, add features and text, make and delete pages, and do general maintenance on your site if necessary so you save money by not calling me for small things.
